PLYMOUTH Argyle striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has been arrested

following an alleged bottling incident outside a Union Street

nightclub.

The 21-year-old footballer – who was instrumental in Saturday’s

3-0 home win over Norwich City – was arrested by police at

4.15am on Sunday. It is understood he was arrested after the

alleged assault took place outside Union Street’s Candy Store

club.

He was interviewed at Charles Cross Police Station yesterday

and has since been released on police bail pending further

enquiries.

Police are expected to search CCTV footage in the area over the

coming days.

An Argyle spokesman said: “The club are aware that an incident

occurred in Plymouth in the early hours of Sunday morning. As

it is the subject of a police inquiry it would be inappropriate

for the club to comment further.”

Ebanks-Blake played the whole game against Norwich City at Home

Park on Saturday. The striker was manager Ian Holloway’s first

signing in July last year. He was bought from Manchester

United.
