THE next-door neighbours of the Hammacott family paid their own

tribute to Stephanie yesterday and expressed their support for

‘the best of neighbours’.

Pensioners Harold and Shirley Ferris have lived at 30 Bulteel

Gardens for 20 years, and said they had watched Stephanie grow

up.

Mrs Ferris said: “A more loving family you couldn’t wish to

meet, and the best of neighbours; they would help anybody.

“I can’t imagine what I’m going to say to Carol (Hammacott)

when I see her.

“It’s such an awful tragedy. Stephanie was in the wrong place

at the wrong time.”

Mr Ferris said: “She was always fun; she always spoke to you

politely.

“It’s just upset us terribly.”
