£40,000 daylight diamond theft
A THIEF snatched two diamond rings worth a total of £40,000 from town jewellers in broad daylight.
Police in Kingsbridge are investigating the theft from a shop in Fore Street at 3.25pm yesterday.
A man asked to see the rings and grabbed them from the shop assistant before running out of the shop.
He got into a waiting car, a blue Honda Civic with registration number P95 SSK, which was driven off by a second person.
Clothing believed worn by the offender was found by police a short time later, discarded on the road, near to the roundabout at Palegate Cross, the junction of the A379 and A381.
The offender is described as a white male of medium build, aged 30 to 40 years, 5ft 6in to 5ft 7in tall with short black gelled spiky hair, almost shaved at back and half an inch long on top.
He was clean shaven and wearing black thick-rimmed glasses, 'squarish' in style, long-sleeved grey shirt with a black and grey diagonal striped tie, black trousers and black shoes.
The rings are described as made of white precious metal, either white gold or platinum, with claw-set diamonds.
Anyone who has information regarding the theft is asked to contact the police on 08452 777444 quoting crime reference JK/08/823.
Information can also be given in confidence, via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

“What have I said against the police in my posting? if you mean that in general I have a comparatively low regard for their level of training, performance and results then i confess. I believe that instead of making themselves out to be foolproof and perfect, always knowing who needs to be tasered or subjected to a robust handling on arrest, always blaming someone else for screwed up court results and somehow imagining that that they alone know how society should be conducted then i hold my hands up. They do not just need to be more evident around the place they need to show more understanding and insight, anticipation and control. i have no doubt that there are dozens of very good policemen at all levels within Devon and Cornwall but by and large I believe that they are not cutting the mustard. If all of them wore these Headcams all the time then they would all be fully accountable and it would be virtually impossible to challenge any of their actions if they had conducted themselves correctly.”

“Molly, could you please explain what it is you have against the Police? I'm sure the officers in this case would like nothing better than getting this guy, as the vast majority of officers would in any case they investigate.
All you ever do on this site is have a go at people and organisations and I would just love to know why the Police seem to be the brunt of your anger. And please don't do your usual thing and just go onto another topic without actually answering this question directly, I'm sure a lot of people on here would like to hear your response!”
