5,300 to lose their jobs in the Army in latest defence cuts
Up to 5,300 soldiers are to be made redundant in the latest round of defence cuts announced today.
Those meeting the redundancy criteria are to be told today.

A statement released today reads: "Throughout the redundancy process, we will ensure that we retain the capabilities that our Armed Forces require in order to meet the challenges of the future."
Anyone who has recently served in Afghanistan, who will be serving in June or who is about to deploy will be exempt.
