A38 lane closure after car loses wheel and spins in road
ONE lane of a busy city carriageway had to be closed for around two hours on Sunday after a car lost a wheel and spun in the road.
Police were called to the incident, on the A38 eastbound, between the B3213 junction in Ivybridge and the A3121 junction in Bittaford, shortly before 8am.
Officers said a silver Vauxhall Astra had spun in the road and one wheel had come off the vehicle. The Highways Agency were called to the scene to clear debris from the car off both sides of the carriageway, the police said.
No one was injured in the accident and the road reopened at around 10am.

“Did the car spin first and then the wheel came off, or the other way round?”
