Acquisition expands label manufacturer
A MANUFACTURING firm which specialises in making labels has created five jobs after acquiring another company.
Tamar Labels, based in Gulworthy near Tavistock, has acquired the assets of an Irish self adhesive label company Labelit.

Tamar Labels makes labels and point-of-sale displays for speciality food and beverage producers, while Labelit's customers include major name brands in the European food, drinks, and pet care sectors.
Tamar Labels is now hoping to grab a slice of the European pet care sector, worth an estimated 127billion euros a year and see its turnover grow to five million euros next year.

Robert Lee, Tamar Labels managing director said: "Europeans spend more on pet care than we do in the UK.
"In Eastern Europe, household expenditure on pet care products has increased by more than 60 per cent over the past five years.
"Therefore the European pet care sector represents a substantial growth opportunity for Tamar Labels."
