AS the nights start to draw in, Connells in Plymouth is pleased to report that it is seeing several rays of light in the local property market. As is traditional at this time of year, Connells has experienced a rush of activity as homeowners look to secure a sale and move before the Christmas holidays.

"It is not unusual at this time of year to see more people looking to move," says Russell Brighton, Branch Partner for Connells.

"We often find that with the summer over and children back at school, people can turn their attention to moving home.

"Whether you are buying for the first time, upsizing, downsizing or looking for that ultimate dream home, October is a great time to get the ball rolling if you want to move before Christmas."

Connells in Plymouth is certainly seeing a greater degree of confidence across the market, as evidenced by the higher number of homes up for sale.

Mr Russell says this is great news for buyers who are getting more choice, which increases the chance of securing that ideal purchase.

"Although there is more activity in the local housing market in October, homeowners should still ensure that their properties are sensibly priced and proactively marketed by their estate agent," he says.

"The opportunities are certainly there, and with the right agent there is no reason why vendors should not achieve a quick sale at a good price."
