Advice on risk of diabetes
HUNDREDS of people were told about the risk of diabetes when a health roadshow came to the city.
The Healthy Lifestyle Roadshow from Diabetes UK and Bupa helped 207 people in the area find out more about diabetes and discover whether they are at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
The roadshow, which took place on October 2 and 3, aimed to identify some of the estimated 3,700 city people who have the condition but are unaware they do.
Over 50 per cent of those assessed were referred to their GP for advice as their risk of diabetes was moderate to high.
