SHOCK rocker Alice Cooper is bringing his spectacular stage show to Plymouth for a gig in December.

The American rock singer – whose career has spanned more than 40 years – is heading to the Plymouth Pavilions on Wednesday, December 2.

Although the show's promoter is keeping tight-lipped about the show, The Herald believes it will feature props including guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, boa constrictors and baby dolls.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 29, from 9am.

The tickets will cost £32.50 and may be subject to a processing fee.

Robert Maltby, marketing officer at Plymouth Pavilions, described the gig as being a massive coup for Plymouth.

"This is a massive signing for us, Alice Cooper is rock royalty," he said.

"We've had many rock stars grace our stage, but Alice has to be one of the biggest.

"This autumn is really pulling in the big names, first it was Lily and now Alice with still have a few more up our sleeves in the coming months, so watch this space!"

Alice Cooper – born Vincent Damon Furnier – is best known for his hits School's Out and Poison although he has released 25 albums in his career which has spanned more than four decades.

Over the years he moulded various elements to create a theatrical brand of rock music which would come to be known as 'shock rock'.

To book tickets call the Pavilions' box office on 0845 146 1460.

“Saw The Coop last year in Germany at Manowar's Magic Circle festival and I have to say he was awesome. Still going strong for an old guy, and he comes with a fantastic backing band. Unfortunately he still churns out nonsense like Poison among classics like Dead Babies, The Ballad of Dwight Fry, Welcome to my Nightmare etc etc”
