Alleged Plymouth cafe rapist granted police bail
A MAN arrested by police following the alleged rape of a young woman in the toilets of a city cafe has been released on police bail.
As reported in The Herald yesterday, officers were called to Mutley at around 8am on Thursday.
The incident was alleged to have happened inside the toilets at Goodbody's bar and cafe on Mutley Plain.
The alleged victim is believed to be in her 20s and a 34-year-old man was still at the scene when police arrived.

It is understood the man and the woman entered the cafe together earlier on Thursday morning.
The man was arrested on suspicion of rape and taken into custody at Crownhill Police Station, where he was interviewed.
He was later granted police bail until June 4 while further inquiries are carried out.
The woman was taken to the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) at Millfields.
Specialist detectives from Plymouth Police's Sexual Offences Investigation Team (SOIT) are leading the inquiry and have seized CCTV footage from the cafe.
