A DISABLED mother is planning to lose 34lbs for the loveLIFE campaign.

Annette Laurie, pictured right, aged 51, is registered disabled, suffering severe osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, and endured two spinal operations in September 2011.

Annette said: "I was off work for nine weeks from the City Centre Company and in that time I wasn't able to exercise so I put some weight on but decided I was going to get fitter when I could."

She is currently 11st 13lbs but would like to get down to 9st 5lbs, so a total loss of 34lbs for the loveLIFE campaign.

"It may be difficult as I am a full time working mother and wife, and I am 51 years old.

"Medically I know our metabolism slows down and we get a little thicker around the middle but I am fighting it hard," she said.

Annette used to be a reservist in the RNR but finished last year after 26 years of service.

This meant she lost the initiative and access to Royal Navy sports facilities, but she does have a fitness programme worked out which has helped her to already lose a stone in weight.

Annette continued: "I work out three times a week on a core ball, I walk or run about four times a week on my running machine at home for about an hour, or six to ten miles in distance."

Annette is also taking part in the 30-mile midnight walk for St Luke's Hospice and hopes to do a 10k run this year.

All of Annette's miles from these events, and her pounds in weight, will be donated to the loveLIFE campaign.
