Antony House in first trailer for Alice in Wonderland
PLYMOUTH'S role in the next big Disney film can clearly be seen in a trailer released by the film company this week.
Director Tim Burton filmed scenes for his next blockbuster Alice in Wonderland at Antony House, Torpoint, near Plymouth - using locals as extras.

Antony House can now be seen in the background of the first trailer officially released by Disney as it begins promoting the big-budget remake.
The house stars at the start of the story, just before Alice plunges down the rabbit hole into Wonderland.

The house, featured in the centre of the image taken from the trailer (above), is an 18th century property overlooking the River Lynher, managed by the National Trust.

“Watched all the available bits and can't find any Plymouth connection. Will it be in the main film?”

“Plymouth's role????? As cleft says, Plymouth doesn't feature at all. If the Carew Poles of Antony had wanted to be Plymothians they would have lived here and not in Cornwall!! Another example of Plymouth and its narrow parochial Jannerpress trying to steal other peoples and places thunder.”
