PLYMOUTH Argyle are making their application for a UK work permit for Zimbabwe international left-back Onismor Bhasera today.

Head coach Paul Mariner will be attending the independent tribunal at Wembley Stadium, starting at 11am.

Also there will be Mariner's assistant John Carver and club secretary Carole Rowntree as the Pilgrims present their case.

The tribunal committee is made up of one member each from the Football Associtaion, the Football League and the Professional Footballers' Association.

An unspecified number of 'experts' will make up the rest of the panel.

Bhasera, who has been capped nine times by Zimbabwe, is a free agent after recently severing his ties with South African side Kaiser Chiefs.

That means the 23-year-old can move to another club, outside the transfer window.

Bhasera spent two weeks training with Argyle last month and Mariner was hugely impressed with him.

Argyle may not be successful in their initial application for a work permit for Bhasera.

He has not played at least 75 per cent of his country's international matches over the past two years, and Zimbabwe are outside the top 70 in FIFA's world rankings.

But Argyle could appeal against any refusal, and would almost certainly do so.

Portsmouth successfully did that when they tried to sign Bhasera earlier this season, and they eventually secured a work permit for him.

However, Bhasera's move to Fratton Park did not take place because of a contract dispute between the player and Kaiser Chiefs.

Meanwhile, Argyle are signing West Ham United's 20-year-old defender Bondz N'Gala on a one-month loan.

N'Gala will train with the Pilgrims' squad tomorrow as they prepare for the away game against Coventry City on Saturday.

The 6ft centre-back is a graduate of West Ham's youth academy, having been born in nearby Newham.

N'Gala has made one substitute appearance for West Ham, in a 3-1 defeat away to Bolton Wanderers in the Carling Cup in September.

He subsequently had a one-month loan spell with Championship club Scunthorpe United.

But the defender played only twice as a substitute for Scunthorpe before returning to West Ham at the end of November.

N'Gala also had a one-month loan spell with MK Dons last season, making three appearances for them.

Argyle already have four on-loan players. They are goalkeeper David Stockdale (Fulham), defender Richard Eckersley (Burnley), midfielder Alan Judge (Blackburn Rovers) and striker Kenny Cooper (1860 Munich).

    “Mark

You're not too bright are you.

The money from the sales of Halmosi & Norris etc has been used to make up the short fall in the attendences and increase in wages.”

    “Mark,
So Argyle was your team in the good times and now you've turned your back on them. Is that right?”

“Saturday (PNE) was the first time I'd been to home park in 3years previous to that I was a season ticket holder for 6years & of course witnessed two succsesive promotions. but I just can not beleive what has happened to the club. this has too be the worst team I've ever seen at home park, they used to say what you lack in skil you'd make up for in effort!!! I didn't see any on Sat no grit or battle any where on the pitch. It really looks like we've sold good players and bought 3rd div ( oops mean 1st Div!! ) but what has happen to the money from Norris, Halmosi etc Mr Sturrock did well to get us in to the Championship, but he clearly was never up to managing in this Div & what has happened to Mr Stapleton & his 5yr plan ?
£24 to watch that again!! I don't think so”
