Argyle away game against Southend is postponed
PLYMOUTH Argyle's away game against Southend United tomorrow has been postponed because of a frozen pitch.
It follows an inspection of the playing surface at Roots Hall this morning.
The decision was taken early so the Pilgrims' squad did not set off on their trip to Essex.
It is the first time this season Argyle have had a game postponed.

New recruits Anthony Charles and Gozie Ugwu will have to wait until the home game against Accrington Stanley next Saturday for the chance to make their debuts.
Southend chief executive Steve Kavanagh said: "It's disappointing because we would have liked to have got the game on.
"Unfortunately the weather has meant the pitch has become frozen and it was deemed dangerous to play on.
"Of course we also had to take into consideration the long journey that Plymouth Argyle would have to make to get here.
"The weather is set to continue in the same vein today and on Saturday so the decision had to be made to postpone the game."
Kavanagh added a date for the rearranged game would be confirmed as soon as possible.

“Well 5 pts out the last 30 available for Accrington tells me that we may actually start as favourites for the game.”

“As of now, with the exception of Aldershot, all the teams directly around us are postponed. This means we will still be out of the drop zone and Aldershot will have played a game in hand come Monday morning.
This is in effect good news as Aldershot are away to York who also need points. It bodes well for JS as he can get another (proven hopefully) striker and more time with his squad before the next match.
I do agree with Wiggy that Accrington is a 6 point must win game to give us a springboard away from danger.

“That makes next weeks game against Accrington massive, a win will see us go above them and they are currently slipping down the league at a rate of knots and are in awful form. A win next week is a must, followed by a win against the Daggers the following week and things will be looking up.Lets get another striker in next week, proven scorer and target man would be ideal
Massive next Saturday though so a good week working with the new lads is vital”

“Also, fingers crossed the teams around us all lose on saturday, that way we'll only have played one more game than those around us. hopefully we'll still be sat outside of the bottom 2 on monday.”

“The positive is that it gives Sheridan more time with the players, especially new signings, before we play again.”

“Hopefully the game can be arranged in better weather where we have players who will hopefully gelled and we stand a better chance of getting 3 points.
Onwards and upwards
