FANS are being assured Plymouth Argyle's game against Chesterfield at Home Park today (3pm) will definitely go ahead.

Further heavy rain has fallen in the city this morning after the deluges of earlier this week.

Argyle officials have stressed no pitch inspection is planned and have urged supporters to get along to Home Park for the League Two fixture.

However, fans travelling to the game by car are advised to take care on the roads because of standing water.

“I did not go to te game, but listed to Gordon Sparks on BBC Radio Devon.

From the commentary, it sounded like "Argyle" gave a good performance, had a call for a penalty refused, but unfortunately lost the game.

Sadly, good performances don't always win games and today has just proved the point.

Gordon Sparks commented that Carl Fletcher was was quiet on the touchline and left it to Kevin Nancekivell to call directions and encourage. These are all signs that Carl Fletcher is a "spent force" and should do the decent thing and resign. Thing is, does he possess that level of integrity?”

“No good beating the weather when you can't beat the opposition. For all our chances, we haven't got an out-and-out striker who gets the ball in the back of the net. Sigh.”
