PLYMOUTH Argyle lost 3-2 away to Oxford United in the FA Youth Cup second round at Didcot Town FC last night.

Second-year apprentice Tyler Harvey had opened the scoring for the Pilgrims in the 26th minute.

A long clearance from goalkeeper Christian Walton was touched on by Matt Lecointe and Harvey lobbed the ball into the net.

Oxford replied in stoppage time at the end of the first half when Jermaine Udumaga converted a cross.

Jason Roberts put the U's 2-1 up early in the second half but first-year professional Lecointe equalised in the 67th minute.

Joshua Hutchinson was fouled inside the penalty area by Justin Niangasa and Lecointe sent Hill the wrong way from the spot.

Oxford, though, clinched a third round tie at home to Barnsley when Roberts scored from outside the 18-yard box in the 83rd minute.

The U's have now won 11 successive matches in all competitions.
