Argyle sign Fletcher
PLYMOUTH Argyle have completed the signing of Crystal Palace midfielder Carl Fletcher on a one-month loan.
Fletcher trained with the Pilgrims’ squad this morning, after travelling to Plymouth last night.

And the 28-year-old Wales international is set to make his debut in the home game against Sheffield United tomorrow (3pm).
Under-pressure Argyle manager Paul Sturrock was unavailable for comment when Herald Sport tried to contact him this lunchtime.
Sturrock has not done any interviews with the local media since the 3-1 defeat by Crystal Palace at Home Park on Tuesday.
But he has spoken about the signing of Fletcher to Argyle’s official club website.
Sturrock said: “I have been after Carl for a while and he has come in for a month to strengthen and bolster the midfield area.
“It has been very difficult in that position this year because everybody wants to keep their experienced players.
“We needed another captain in there and he has captained Wales and many other teams in the past, so there are leadership qualities in him.
“When we are going through the spell we are going through, we need that kind of generalship from experienced players.
“He’s very thoughtful when the other team has got the ball. He talks and organises your midfield and he sees a pass when he gets on the ball.
“He’s all fit and ready for tomorrow.”
Sheffield United have also completed a loan signing this morning, with striker Craig Beattie arriving from West Bromwich Albion.
Argyle are not expected to make any further additions to their squad before the game against the Blades.

“i have been saying, since the beginning of the season.WE NEED A STRIKER.so we sign a midfielder.we are equal second bottom,of the league, for goals scored.so we get another midfielder.our strikers, are dreamers.just like our chairman.he does not talk to US,the supporters and tell us what is going on,because he has no bottle.”

“Richie - agree wholeheartedly with your comment. As much as I want my beloved greens to do the business on Saturday, with or without new chap Carl Fletcher, I don't actually think they will. Saying that I want them to prove me wrong and as such even in the current climate would forego my bet outlay. If not then I have a few quid for the priveledge so suppose it is a win-win situation!”

“6 to 4 is a knocking bet getting odds against for any team playing us at the moment is a bonus and great money maker in the current climate, cant believe palace were 5 to 4 on tuesday, and Shaktar Donetsk to beat sopurs last night at 11 to 10 there is certainly some value to be had of late”

“Fletcher could be a useful acquisiation provided he stays injury free for his loan period. Would like to see him with Walton, Duguid and Noone in a 4 man midfield - that could sort a few out possibly with Mackie and Gally upfront.
Hope for a win tomorrow but it will be hard I feel. 6/4 Sam - I would take that too and Ithink the draw at Birmingham is also good odds this far in advance. Do you bet 365 at all they seem to have some good prices there?”

“Richie and Jonathan (both Plymouth) I owe you an apology.
Far be it for me to question you but my bet has been in place for over 3 weeks (not the clown bookies). Having reread my post it should have read 6/4 for the Sheff Utd win - 6/1 would have been great but not even I can find that.! For the record, I also have 5/2 for a draw at Birmingham on Easter so thought that was worth a punt too.”

“To sam sung having run a betting shop for ten years now, where the hell did you get 6 to 1 on a sheff utd win on saturday, the clown bookies, dont post absolute nonsense, glad Luggy is trying to address the serious shortcomings in centre midfield, ok so he might no get into palaces team but he is good deal better than our current options in that position!”

“Interesting to see all the wonderfull comments on the subject of Mr Sturrock and our famous club.
One wonders where some people get their ideas about how the clubs fortunes have changed and who is to blame.
Football as they say is a funny old game. Lets all get a reality check and attempt to understand that their have been some great signings many of which are for the future but sometimes things just do not go for you. We are as a City in the next best league in the country but unfortunately at this time at the wrong end of the division. Good managers and teams have before faced the same senario as the club faces at the present time but it does not always mean that the manager is the problem. A couple of breaks and you can race to mid table safety. Lets see the season out supporting the team and the manager .
There are enough games left to scrape to safety and then look to next year for the improvements everyone is demanding . Success is never guaranteed no matter if you have the best manager and players but a solid support from the faithfull will help the team through this difficult period. A change now in leadership is the wrong decision, its the mistake many clubs make and the inevitable happens the changes the fanbase are screaming for do not work and the team goes down any way. Lets see it out and if we do go down we will still have enough quality to come back up.
Our Chairman is a local man who has changed the Club dramatically over the past few years and kept the Club afloat . He will not let us go down without a fight and i do believe with the sensible approach he has taken in managing the club he will turn out to be the most successful Chairman we have had.
Lets get a result on Saturday even if its a nil nil and then go up to Wolves and do them.”
