“This time last season I was confident that we would survive the dreaded drop and was subjected to all sorts of verbal abuse and deemed to be a crazy old man,my reason then for being optimistic was that we had settled into a backs to the wall attitude and we were prepared to scrap for every point,we succeeded in this mainly to the older professionals that were brought in (yes including Chadwick and Feeney) to give the team a solid spine,we were not scoring many goals but not many were conceded and we pulled off the great escape.
This term we are going into this crucial period with a heavy reliance on youth mostly with no league expieriance and no midfield player capable of giving the support on the pitch that they need when play goes against them.
I agree with Wilf this time around ,we will have to perform better than Houdini to preserve our league status, its a big ask from these young players.
Reid and Paris are capable of scoring the required goals but who is going to provide the openings.
At the end of the season I truly hope that i will be proved to be wrong and forced to eat HUMBLE PIE,but at the moment I am preparing myself for life in the conferance.”

“I would love to be optimistic but I have to ask the same 3 questions to the optimists - 1 - do you agree we need to win half a dozen games from now on to stay up - 2 - assuming you agree this do you agree we need to score at least 1 goal in each game to win it - 3 and now the big one WHO THE HECK IS GOING TO SCORE THESE GOALS!!!! I will be at Aldershot on Saturday and if you look at where they are surely even the most ardent optimist would have to agree that we have to win this one or else we are doomed. Heres hoping!!!”

“Wow you know so much about your team don't you, why do you just come on here to wind people up and try and get a reaction? Please all, just ignore

Rooney was born in Croxteth in Liverpool, and compared to you he's a genius!!

I'll await the normal insults but please all Plymouth fans ignore this fool”

“Beat Aldershot away - you are joking? Argyle are total joke and lose most games so how anyone thinks they will get a result away be mad. People knock me for supporting Man Utd, Celtic and Arsenal as I was not born in those places. However people can support who they want. Rooney plays for the Red Devils (Man Utd to the fans) however he was born in London. Man Utd win more trophies every month then rubbish old Argyle have ever won. I have been on the Old Trafford stadium tour 3 times and had my photo taken next the Champions League trophy. How many of you can say that?????????”

“I accept Saturdays game is so so important but if we do lose it then by all means that's not the end of the road, not by a long chalk. We still have to go to Wimbledon and their home record is worse than ours, not won at home for months and also we have Barnet to come to Home Park and there mini revival appears, I hope, to have finished.

I don't like to look at other team fixtures but I do anyway and some of the teams around us have some toughies as well, for example Barnet host Port Vale this Saturday.

So yes Saturday is important as is every game because we can't keep saying there are 15 games left, then 14 , then 13 and so on. However if we don't get the result we hope to get its far far to early to throw in the towel.

I still predict that The two to go down will be from either Barnet, Wimbledon and Accrington.

We have still to have our good run so fingers crossed it'll start Saturday

    Keep the faith Pilgrims”

“6 teams - only 2 go down. in simple maths thats a 1 in 3 chance. With not much to look forward in the striker front are we relying on own goals to keep us up?”

“No ifs, no buts - this season will go to the wire.

There are 6 clubs in serious trouble - from Bristol Rovers down and a few results can turn that on its head but 5 points to York is a good margin for them.

We simply have to win at Aldershot and that means we have to score - oh deary me.......

    Mandy Lifeboat xx”
