SALTASH United have been promised a strong QPR line-up for Monday's pre-season friendly at Kimberley Stadium.

Current Rangers manager and former Plymouth Argyle supremo Neil Warnock has assured Ashes boss Kevin Hendy that, although he is away in Italy on a training exercise with a number of the first-team squad, he will still be sending a strong line-up to play the fixture under the guidance of newly-appointed coach Ronnie Jepson.

The Ashes are hoping for a large crowd at Kimberley where the admission will be £7 for adults and £4 for OAP's, students and teenagers.

Children will be admitted free of charge if accompanied by an adult.

The match against QPR is the first of a series of attractive friendlies at Kimberley Stadium with Southern League Premier outfit Truro City arriving on Saturday, July 31 (3pm) followed by a strong Plymouth Argyle side on Monday, August 2 (7.30pm).

Saltash offcials said they were grateful to National Company Morgan Sindall who have sponsored both the QPR and Argyle friendlies.

Hendy, meanwhile, has been delighted with his pre-season training.

He said: "I believe I have the strongest squad available in the five years I have been at Saltash."

Warnock, who has a home on the outskirts of Plymouth, has already seen his squad given a decent workout at Tavistock.

His players, including former Argyle stars Jamie Mackie and Hungarian Akos Buszaky, defeated a new-look Tavistock side 8-0.

Buszaky and Mackie, who joined the west London club at the end of last season, were among the Rangers' scorers.

Warnock has set up a friendly against Argyle at QPR's Loftus Road stadium on Friday, July 30 (7.30pm).
