Assaults at vicars and tarts night at Plymouth pub

DETECTIVES are investigating a brawl involving revellers dressed as vicars and tarts.

Police were called to the Blue Peter public house in Pomphlett Road, Plymstock on the evening of December 22 where a fancy dress-themed night was in full swing.

Around 20 customers were at the premises, being entertained by a female singer, said police.

A police spokesman said: "Some customers were in drink and it would appear that during the evening a number of minor scuffles or disagreements occurred between some customers and staff which may have resulted in assaults."

Police want to hear from witnesses to the incidents, in particular anyone who saw an assault that occurred after last orders had been called which may have involved members of staff and customers.

Detectives are investigating two assaults which were reported at the pub.
