Authority is gay-friendly
DEVON and Somerset Fire and Rescue is one of the most 'gay-friendly' employers in the UK.
The service has been ranked 91 out of 369 public and private sector organisations in the Workplace Equality Index.
It's up 67 places since last year.
It means the service has made it on to Stonewall's prestigious Top 100 Employers List.

The Workplace Equality Index is Britain's leading tool for employers to measure their efforts to tackle discrimination and create inclusive workplaces for lesbian, gay and bisexual employees.
Employers must demonstrate tackling anti-gay bullying and harassment and supporting the career development of LGB employees.
The service's evidence included gay-friendly policies and procedures, an LGB employee network and equality training for all employees.
It also has LGB champions.
