A BRAVE mum who shares her experience of her daughter dying in a car crash is being honoured.

The High Sheriff will hand over an award to Helen Brennand.

Helen's 13-year-old daughter Jade died in 2007.

Since then the Plymouth woman has been involved with Learn2Live.

Helen gives presentations all over the county about the dangers of Devon's roads.

The aim of the project is to inform students about the dangers caused by speeding, drink driving and distractions like using a mobile phone.

Four of Helen's Learn2Live colleagues will also be recognised for their courage in dealing with the consequences of a crash.

High Sheriff Robin Barlow said: "These people are a remarkable group of individuals, each of whom in their own quiet way has been doing something very special.

"I am delighted to be able to present an award to them. They are a credit to their community and county."
