DESPITE losing their first eight matches, Porters A are beginning to turn their season around having won their last four contests.

They led Octagon Social Club B 5-2 but, despite the visitors pulling it back to 5-5, aided by an 11-dart leg in a 3-0 win for Terry Carey, Steve Bishop won the decisive 11th point edging out Dave Graham 3-2.
Porters C remain top after a 7-4 victory at Ker Street Social Club, for whom Craig Hillary (100x13) caught the eye, but their advantage has been cut to a point after City Social A secured all but one of the 10 points on offer when hosting Saltram Social Club.

Richard Lynch was pushed the full five legs before winning in 19, 16 and 16, and was well supported by Mark Turner (18, 19, 24) and Allan Brunton (15, 19, 23).
Maritime Social Club returned from Kings Arms with an 8-3 victory, but the stand-out performance came from Bruce Harrison (100x15) for the Oreston outfit when he won 3-0 in 17, 16 and 14 for a superb three-dart average of 96.57.
Following five defeats in a row, St Levan Inn returned to winning ways with a 9-2 victory over Indian Inn, but, in the last singles of the match, Indian's Mike Brookshaw (100x16) earned the plaudits when notching two 17-darters in a 3-2 win over Gary Phillips (100x12).
The Fawn defeated City Social B 7-4 with good performances from John Mann (100x13) and Lee Roberts (100x12) and Mark Yeoman was also prominent when hitting two 16-dart legs in a 3-1 individual success.
Octagon Social Club A defeated Porters B 8-3 in a high-scoring encounter that produced 96 throws of a ton or more.
Fred Goldsmith (100x17) took out a 15-darter with a finish of 106 but was edged out 3-2 by Antony Hayman (100x17) who threw the week's highest finish of 156.
Neil White (100x11) was also prominent for the winners and secured legs in 14 and 18 in a 3-2 win.
Other ton-plus checkouts from around the boards were delivered by Robbie Bisgrove (124), Allan Brunton (120), John Cook (110), Antony Hayman (106) and Danny Allen (103).
MONDAY PREMIER LEAGUE
CHAMPIONS City Social finished their campaign on a winning note with an 8-3 win at St Johnston Social Club A to take the title by 15 points.
In a high scoring encounter that saw five maximums recorded, John Turpin for the Keyham side was on target with the night's highest checkout of 123.
St Johnston A completed their outstanding fixture and a 10-1 victory over Porters A was enough to ensure them of runners-up spot.
Mark Hatherley and Turpin caught the eye when they secured a 601 doubles leg in 16 darts.
Wayne Tucker (100x13) inspired Porters B to a 7-4 victory at Town House, who had to be content with third spot, while five 180s were recorded at Indian Inn when the B team edged out their stable-mates by the narrowest of margins.
Keith Stephens was on target with an out-shot of 110 but finished up on the wrong side of a 6-5 scoreline when St Johnston Social Club B were defeated at Steam Packet.
Another good out-shot of 111 was executed by Dave Higgins, inspiring Porters A to a 7-4 success against Cherry Tree.
The individual title was won by Wayne Tucker, who went through the season with an unblemished record, a point in front of John Turpin on 53 and three in front of third placed Mark Hatherley.
Hatherley and Annie Lane both hit nine maximums throughout and the season's highest checkout award went to Glynn Brooks (170).
