Bag filled with £40k of drugs left in Plymouth street
DETECTIVES are investigating how a bag containing an estimated £40,000 worth of amphetamine came to be left in a city street.
Police said they received a call from two concerned members of the public at around 2.30pm last Friday who claimed to have found the red and black holdall in a street in the North Prospect area of the city.
The bag was taken to Crownhill police station and officers realised there were four bags of a white powder inside.
Initial forensic examination of the substance suggests it is amphetamine, with an estimated street value of £40,000, although the purity of the Class B drug is not yet known.
