BATTEN BAY beach will benefit from a clean up thanks to a Plymouth group who are asking volunteers to join them.

The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) Plymouth Local Group will be cleaning their adopted beach on Saturday, March 20.

All materials are provided but it is advisable to wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear on the day.

Everyone is welcome, although children should be accompanied by an adult and all volunteers participate at their own risk.

The group, who are meeting at 10am, survey the litter found and send the data to the Marine Conservation Society, who use the information to target marine litter at local, national and international levels.
