He was rushed to Derriford Hospital suffering from what police described as “life-changing” injuries, after being found lying in the road.

Officers believe the green Harley may have struck either a lamppost or a kerb on the stretch of road, which is just off the busy northbound A386, Tavistock Road.

Witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 6.40pm, are still being sought.

Anyone who saw the crash is asked to call police on 101, quoting log number 739 of June 29.

    “BS hater
What can we do is the cry , well bikes (both push and motor) are suseptable to the many pot holls on our roads so number one would be sort them out on health and safety grounds. Car drivers need educating about how to act with bikes around them , dont try and race them or cut them up , worse still they change lanes without looking etc and bike riders need not to ride like loons in between cars. I have ridden my bike all over Europe and the UK is the most less tollerant of anything on 2 wheels”

“I Understand There Is A Recession On & Everyone Is Screaming For All Sorts Of Monies To Be Spent On All Sorts Of Things..... But..... The state of our roads is an absolute disgrace. This isn't about making them faster but it is about making them safer. Potholes in a car are awful but on a bike they're deadly. The worst are the Tramlined ones which extend for several feet. You then have the deepened Spoon like ones which spit gravel out after a vehicle has driven over them... They are extremely dangerous for anything on 2 wheels & after all the taxes generated by any type of wheeled vehicle, they really shouldn't be there to be discussed.”

“ANOTHER ONE!!!!!!!!!!!! They must be putting Teflon in bike tyre's these days.

This cannot continue, but what can we do? Anyone any ideas?

I reckon that motorbike ECU's should have a 'black box' feature that records all the drivers behaviour. This would give vital information to the cause of accidents, could also be used by insurance companies to make the law breaking jerks pay the full premium for their insurance whilst the rest of us pay a lot less...”
