A GARAGE fire in a Woolwell housing estate is being treated as suspected arson, say police.

Two fire crews from Crownhill and Camels Head station were called to the blaze in a garage in Woodend Road at 7.11am yesterday.

Fire crews say they were able to extinguish the blaze in the domestic garage, which measured 3m by 6m, but everything inside the building was completely destroyed and half the roof was severely damaged.

A police spokesman said fire investigators initially carried out a study of the scene and following consultation with police the blaze was deemed suspicious.
