Boat thief sets himself adrift
Things did not go accordng to plan - if there had been much of one to start with - for a 34 year old Birmingham man who set himself adrift in a small fishing boat in Sutton Harbour.
Police were called to the scene and found that the man had climbed on board and untied the ropes allowing the boat to drift around the harbour.
The officers were helped by the Ministry of Defence Police in a MOD boat and boarded the stolen vessel and arrested the man.
He was detained at Charles Cross Police Station before being interviewed and cautioned for the offence of taking without consent.
