Bootcamp 'taster' proves very popular
A 'TASTER' for next year's five-day Plymouth Entrepreneurs' Bootcamp went down a treat on Tuesday, according to organisers.
The Bootcamp was held in the city last year and was hailed as a success by organisers due to the number of participants who went on to set up and grow their own businesses.
It will be held again at the end of March next year – this time at the new i-Space at the University College Plymouth Marjon – but the organisers offered a 'taster' session this week, as part of Plymouth's celebration of National Enterprise Week.
Sue Windley, one of the designers of the Bootcamp, said: "The taster on Tuesday was brilliant. It was great to be able to use the impressive i-Space and those involved – a mixture of would-be participants and sponsors – really enjoyed it. It gave everyone a flavour of what next year's Bootcamp will be all about.
"It was an excellent event to have as part of this year's Plymouth Enterprise Week programme."
In 2007, 11 would-be entrepreneurs survived the Bootcamp project, which aimed to cram five years' experience into five days. Tuesday's 'taster' session squeezed those five days into just two hours.
The 2009 bootcampers will be selected by sponsors through competitions hosted by The Herald and Marjon in February, so the taster was also the first chance for participants to find out what qualities the sponsors are looking for in them.
