SUPPORT: Members of Plymouth Boys' Brigade present a £2,245.25 cheque to Lord Mayor Mary Aspinall and Cynthia Richings of the Children's Hospice South West
The appeal was supported by the companies of Plymouth and by former members of the Boys' Brigade through thePlymouth branch of the Steadfast Association.
In 2008, to mark the 125th anniversary of the Boys' Brigade, it adopted the children's hospice movement as its official charity of the national youth group and the aim was to raise £125,000, a figure that was exceeded.
Members of the Plymouth Battalion requested the money it raised be given to the Children's Hospice South West, to be donated to the Precious Lives Appeal to support the new hospice being built near St Austell which aims to serve Plymouth and Cornwall.
