Branston is Sheridan's second signing for Argyle
EXPERIENCED centre-back Guy Branston has become the second signing of new Plymouth Argyle manager John Sheridan.
The 34-year-old will be with the struggling League Two club until the end of the season.
Branston, who had a loan spell with Argyle in 1998/99, has been brought in to replace Darren Purse, who moved to Port Vale earlier this month.
He is available for the Pilgrims' game against Morecambe at Home Park tomorrow.

Branton signed for Aldershot Town in the summer but had his contract terminated by mutual consent at the start of January.
One of only five appearances he made for the Shots came against Argyle in a Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie.
Branston had a four-match loan spell at Bristol Rovers recently, before Mark McGhee was sacked as their manager.
Sheridan's first signing as Argyle manager was Ipswich Town striker Ronan Murray.
Murray, 21, completed a loan move to the Pilgrims this morning and will spend the rest of the season with them.

“Two new signings in the right positions, but will they fill the gaps; JS did say that he would only bring in players who he thought would strengthen the team, so in him we must trust - I'm not too sure.
Personally I think JS's task is more about getting the best out of what we have at the club already; he has had a reality check by finding out that players are reluctant to travel all the way to southerly Plymouth, this allied to the fact we are in a relegation dog fight must be a deterring factor. Although are location is a bit of a lame excuse when considering modern day transport links compared to 15, 20 years ago.
If JS can get the careless mistakes out of our game, particularly in the first third of the pitch, and an attacking system that provides good service to the forwards, then we are in with a chance. Although Fletcher's emphasis was on good passing football, we were all too often slow in getting the ball forward and hence were always up against packed defences and open to a counter attack. I am not advocating hoof ball, but an intelligent ball threaded either through the middle or out in the channels. Also, we need our wide players to get deeper before crossing the ball. With the right service Tyler Harvey and Rhys Griffiths could pose quite a threat, particularly if they are supported by the pacey PCH.
Would have been nice if the club had completed the signing of Macca, he is a pocket battleship who I believed would have given more with a settled life style in the Plymouth area - alas it isn't to be.
John Sheridan, over to you.”
