A LORRY carrying building materials caused problems on a city roundabout yesterday when it shed its load.

Police received calls from members of the public alerting them to the incident at Elburton roundabout, Billacombe Road, at around 1.23pm.

The driver of the lorry, which was heading towards Elburton at the time of the incident, could be seen trying to collect the materials that had fallen of the vehicle, a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said.

The roundabout was clear and flowing as normal by 1.43pm, police said.
