THE following cases have been dealt with by Plymouth magistrates.

RYAN GRADDON, aged 32, of Cockington Close, Plymouth: assaulting a man by beating and threatening behaviour – 12-month community order with Low Intensity Alcohol Programme and ordered to pay costs of £310.

CONNOR JACKSON, aged 18, of Estuary Way, Plymouth: common assault against a man – 12-month community order under probation supervision, ordered to pay costs of £100 and compensation of £53.

JAMIE O'CONNELL, aged 28, of Tovey Crescent, Plymouth: assaulting a man causing actual bodily harm, assaulting a woman by beating and causing criminal damage to a front door – 26-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months with 135 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £600 compensation.

LEWIS YATES-DALE, aged 19, of Salcombe Road, Plymouth: possession of mephedrone and possession of cannabis – 12-month community order with 125 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £30 costs.

JOE HENWOOD, aged 19, of Dean Hill, Plymouth: drunk and disorderly – fined £70, ordered to pay £50 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

RICHARD LOUIS, aged 25, of Duke Street, Plymouth: drunk and disorderly – fined £70, ordered to pay £25 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

THOMAS DUGGAN, aged 21, of Garden Street, Plymouth: aggravated vehicle taking, driving without insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence – three-month community order with a curfew for that period on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, banned from driving for 12 months, fined £200, ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and £15 victim surcharge.

MARK GRIERSON, aged 32, of Bradstone near Tavistock: driving while disqualified and without insurance – 12-month community order with 150 hours unpaid work.

ANDREW JACKSON, aged 24, of Wallace Road, Plymouth: driving without due care and attention – banned from driving for six months, fined £350, ordered to pay £200 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

MATTHEW PEARCE, aged 24, of Almond Drive, Plymouth: driving without due care and attention – banned from driving for six months, fined £150, ordered to pay £200 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

JAMIE SANDERS, aged 23, of Lympne Avenue, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 18 months, fined £300, ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

CARWYN WILLIAMS, aged 40, of Chip Shop near Tavistock: drink-driving – banned from driving for 17 months, fined £180, ordered to pay £50 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

JONATHAN BOOTH, aged 23, of Pollards Way, Saltash: seven charges of fraud by false representation, one of theft and one of failing to answer bail – 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months, ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay £390 compensation.

BOBBIE JEFFREY, aged 21, of St Mary Street, Plymouth: threatening behaviour – six-month community order under probation supervision, with the Female Offender Specified Actvitity Requirement.

SAMUEL PERRY, aged 31, of Victoria Place, Plymouth: threatening behaviour and failing to surrender to bail – 12-month community order with probation supervision and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs.

    “Another week in Plymouth when not a single criminal is sent to prison. There must be more community orders made by Plymouth magistrates than orders issued by the British army. Woeful.”
