PLYMOUTH MONDAY SNOOKER LEAGUE
TELECOM won 5-1 at Embassy B in Division A, with Dave Bray making breaks of 39 and 31, to go top a point ahead of Belgrave D, who had a 4-2 win at Plaza F with Steve Powell and Peter Needham both winning twice.
Brian Morgan and Dave Jones both won twice for Plaza A in a 5-1 victory over Saltash WM. Beacon Park B secured a 4-2 win at Keyham Cons, as did Plaza H at home to Crownhill and GWRSA B at Pennycross B.
In Division B, Phil Ambrose (46 and 39) and Nathan Finch won their frames for leaders Belgrave A in a 4-2 win at Beacon Park A. Belgrave B in second closed the gap slightly to five points after winning 5-1 at home to Ford A thanks to two frames each from Alan Iancu and Keith Luscombe. Belgrave G also secured a 5-1 win at home to Plaza C. Lawrence Ward and Adrian Thornton won two frames each. Two frames from Mark Sluggett helped GWRSA A take four points from their match against Pennycross A.

IN THE first round of the Tuesday Knock Out Cup, Steve Brookshaw made breaks of 55 and 41 for Rileys A, who won 4-1 at Rileys G.
In a tighter contest than the score suggests, Belgrave B won 4-0 at club rivals Belgrave C. Rileys I had a great 4-2 win at Plaza C. Rileys E were made to fight all the way at Belgrave G before running out 4-2 winners. Plymouth City Bus were unlucky to go down 4-2 at Rileys F, for whom Dave Sweet won both frames. In a great contest, ESSA beat Belgrave F 4-3 with Mike Hughes winning in a deciding frame.
In the Thursday league, leaders Rileys B went down 4-1 at home to in-form Tavy Club A. Rileys B won 3-2 at Tavy Club B for whom George Ford won both frames.

THE highest break of the week in the Premier came from Torpoint Cons A’s Dan Barsley (66) in a 3-2 win over Pennycross A.
Rileys came away from their match against Ivybridge with a 3-2 win thanks to Hayden Pinhey who made breaks of 26 and 52 to win his frame.
Lee Curtis made a 35 to win the deciding frame in Plympton Cons A’s 3-2 victory over Belgrave B.
Belgrave A’s Dereck Walker and Tom Vanstone make breaks of 55 and 40 respectively to win their frames. However, their opponents, Ford Cons B, then fought back and eventually won this match by 3-2.
In Division One, Torpoint Comrades were on fire and managed to take all five points from City Social thanks to breaks of 24 and 23 from James House, a 21 from Simon Deacon and a 20 from Jack Moore.
Crownhill Family B’s Kris Clarke made a 21 which must have inspired the rest of the team as they went on to take all five points from Crownhill RBL C.
The inter club match at the GWRSA Laira Club saw the A and B teams pitted against each other. The A side came out on top 5-0.
Hyde Park A’s Mike Wilcox made a 21 to win his frame but the team went down by 3-2 to Stuart C.
The only notable break in Division Two came from Torpoint Cons B’s Bob Bunston who managed a 34 in their 5-0 whitewash of Citybus C.
ESSA were also on fine form and took all five points from Citybus B.
Ford Cons A beat Woodland Fort B 4-1 and now move into joint third spot with Citybus A, for whom Gerry Eveleigh came out of retirement to win the decider in a 3-2 victory over Ford Cons D.

IN THE latest round of action in the Trevor Davies Cup, John Paddy compiled an excellent break of 55 for Elburton A in a 20-14 victory at Noss Mayo. Chris Coumbe had breaks of 43 and 32 for Keyham in a 20-10 win at Elburton C, while Elburton B had a good home win over Belgrave by 20-17. In a rearranged fixture, Jeff Fox put together a run of 22 in Belgrave’s 20-15 victory at Keyham.
The annual Derek Walker Christmas Classic billiards tournament will be held at the Belgrave Club in Mutley on Sunday. TORPOINT POOL LEAGUE
ALL matches but one went with league position. Comrades visited Kings B who found themselves all square after the singles at 3-3 with wins for Adam Clements, Tom Full and Paul Takle. Comrades replied through Shaun Fletcher, Aaron Bishop and Chloe Davies.
The first two doubles were shared and a few nervous moments later the victory was sealed by Shaun Fletcher and James Maddox of Kings B for their second win of the season.
Mike Miller and Louise Cordrey (both Queens A) still lead the way in the men’s and ladies’ standings.
