Car fire arson almost damaged street lamp in Plymouth
FLAMES from a car fire believed to have been started by arsonists almost licked a street lamp, the fire service said.
Five firefighters from Plympton were called to Valley Road at 10pm on Monday night after a Renault Megane was targeted by suspected arsonists, watch manager Peter Tobin, said.
The car was left completely destroyed by the blaze which took fire crews around 45 minutes to put out using hose reels and breathing apparatus.
Police were investigating the incident.
