The Car that always comes back to haunt me...
So i want to tell you about a car i bought a few weeks back,
but first let me tell you about me, i am a 22 year old male student, studying at Plymouth College of Art, I'm studing fine art. i find myself to sometime be a little bit imature but never the less i know when to be sensible.
so this car i bought, the reason i needed a car was because my fience got a job quite awhile away from where we live, and couldnt get there becaus there wasn't any buses to and from, so i decided that it would be nice of me to get a car and drive her there and back everyday she had work, we started looking for a car and couldn't find one, it took a good month to for one to come up that was in our price range, eventually though we did find one on facebook, it was a good looking car that we saw on facebook, so we decided to ring the owner and see if he still had it, by golly we were in luck he had it and said we could go look at it, so we did, now this was the first time i had bought a car on my own, i do have some knowledge of cars, and know bits and bobs, so i went to look at the car on my own, the car seemed fine, apart from a loose bearing in the front left wheel, i couldn't refuse the car, it was a good one, just a small job on it to be done and the car could be mine, boy was i wrong.
i made the deal £600 for the car, great i have a car, by time i had drove this car it was dead, the radiater had blown, the head gasket had gone, and the exhaust gasket had gone too, the car was pretty much a right off.
i wasn't happy as you had expect, i rang the guy who had sold me the car, could i find him??? no, could i see him on facebook??? no..... was the add we had originally seen on facebook still there....no, he had dissapeared, we knew then that we had been ripped off!!
i didnt want £600 to have gone to waste so i rang the garage close to where i live and see what they said, after giving the reg and tax, i found out that the tax was due to run out on 1/10/11, i already knew this it didnt bother me, what i didnt know was that the MOT ran out on the same date, this i didnt know, the guy that had sold me the car had given me false documents, and fake information.
after realising this car was gonna take alot of money out of me, i decided the best thing to do would be to SORN the car, take it off the road and do it up in my own time, while looking for a new car.
I rang the parking enforcement officer and asked if the car was safe where it was, he agreed that it was off the road and was in a safe place, i had parked it in a nearby off the road carpark, for residents only, its the carpark my friend who lives next door uses all the time, so i knew it was safe.
everything was fine, iwas looking on ebay, going to scrap yeards trying to find replacements for the car, getting it sorted to be road legal again. it was all going well....untill we decided to go for a break.
so me and my fiance decided to go visit my parents for two weeks who live up north in scotland, it was a nice break and good to get out of the city, but when we returned we found that the car had gone, we got back just only today, and as soon as i got back i went to check on the car, but it was gone, what the hell......it's been stollen, i ran back to my home, ready to phone the police and put a report in saying my car has been robbed, but when i got in to the house, i saw my fience reading a letter.
she handed me the letter and told me that the car has been classed as abandoned and has been towed, they had put a notice on the car, but it was only a seven day notice and we have been away for 14 days on holiday we had no idea that the car had a notice on it, and have now been fined £150 for the tow and £20 a day for storage, so far the total fine is £260!! i cant afford that, not this close to christmas, and especially since i'm a student....what do i do???
hopefully tomorrow i'll get it sorted, but what happens??? how do i resolve this?? WHAT DO I DO????

“Makes me laugh, the guy who says what do you expect for £600
I bought a car last year, for £325. one year later and I've managed to sell the car for £350 after around 16,000 miles travelling the country. pretty good seeing as I only needed to pay for tax and some new tires.
Shame you didn't look in a normal place to buy cars, facebook is hardly the first place to pop in to your head when you think of buying a car.”
