ONE lane of a busy stretch of road had to be closed for three hours yesterday after a car spun off the carriageway.

Police were called to a westbound stretch of the A38, between the A374 junction in Trerulefoot and the A390 junction in Liskeard, at around 10am yesterday after reports of a car on its roof.

A silver Honda S2000 had spun in the road and collided with a large sign just before the Menheniot turn off, police said.

The 67-year-old male driver, who was also reported for tyre offences, was treated by paramedics at the scene but did not suffer any serious injuries.
