Caradon sign off for the winter break with 4-2 win
PROMOTION-chasing Caradon have soared to joint second in the West Clubs' Women's Hockey League South Division following a four-match winning run.
The Liskeard-based club head into the mid-season winter break buoyed by an upturn in form and an end of year 4-2 win at Truro.
Clare Poad (2), skipper Glayne Price and Olivia Chids scored for Caradon, who were fired into action after being caught cold by basement side Truro's 10th minute opener.
Bude top the table at the halfway stage of the season, three points ahead of Lipson-based Plym Valley and Caradon.

Mannamead – who have rescheduled their washed-out home game against Okehampton for December 15 – remain fifth despite a surprise 1-0 defeat at eighth-placed Penzance.
Penzance are now level on nine points with seventh-placed Plymouth Marjon II and sixth-placed Okehampton, 2-0 weekend winners over Plymouth.
Plymouth Marjon ladies were beaten 6-0 by promotion-chasing Premier One leaders Exe.

Tavistock remain second in Trelawney One, a point behind leaders Duchy at the halfway stage.
Tavistock triumphed 7-0 at Bodmin bettered by Duchy's 8-1 win at fourth-placed St Austell.
Bristol University edged a point and place ahead of sixth-placed Plymouth Marjon in the Davis Wood League Premiership following Saturday's 5-2 win at UCP Marjon.
Availability-hit Plymouth trailed 2-0 before skipper Simon Fenwick reduced the deficit following a late first half penalty corner.
Bristol edged further ahead before teenager John Whitfield made it 3-2.
PGSOB won their Conference South top of the table clash 2-1 at promotion rivals University of Exeter D thanks to goals from Joe Francis and Mike Carter.
The win enabled PGs to leapfrog Exeter into third spot with a game in hand on top two Isca A and second-placed Plymouth University, 4-3 winners at Taunton Vale A.
Seb Ansley and James Bell scored as fifth-placed Plymouth Marjon A got back to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 home win over Bridgwater.
OPMs stay at the Southern One summit by a point following a 4-4 top-of-the-table comeback draw at third-placed Penzance.
OPMs trailed 2-0 and then 4-2 with six minutes remaining but gained a crucial point thanks to goals from club captain Jason Sweby, Aaron West and Lewis Gunn-Colling (2).
Gunn-Colling's second goal levelled the scores a minute from time. Goal machine Barry Kirkham scored twice as sixth-placed PGSOB A drew 2-2 with 10th-placed Dart, Tavistock lost 7-1 to second-placed East Devon and Plymouth Marjon B returned to bottom place following a 7-2 defeat at basement rivals Camborne School of Mines.
In Southern Two Plymouth Marjon C beat PGSOB B 5-3. John Heath (2) and Mark Smithy scored for PGs.
Gareth Logan and Joseph Laughran (2) scored in OPMs' 3-3 South West One A team draw with Penzance.
