THE following cases have been dealt with by Plymouth magistrates.

SADIE BALL, aged 25, of James Street, Plymouth: theft of two cans of lager from Albert Stores – jailed for eight weeks.

TERRY JEWELL, aged 33, of Efford Lane, Plymouth: assaulting a man by beating – three-month community order with curfew for that period, ordered to pay compensation of £150 and costs of £85.

PAUL MARTIN, aged 37, of Wentwood Place, Plymouth: assaulting a man and a woman by beating them, causing criminal damage to a cupboard door and failing to comply with a suspended sentence order – five-month prison sentence suspended for 24 months to be spent under probation supervision, ordered to pay £100 costs.

JANE MOSELEY, aged 55, of Milton Combe, Yelverton: assaulting two constables in the execution of their duties, threatening behaviour and failing to provide a specimen – fined £500, ordered to pay £620 costs and ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge.

RICHARD ELLIS, aged 41, of Paradise Place, Plymouth: theft of a sandwich from Marks and Spencer and failing to surrender to bail – fined £100 and ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge.

JOHN ELLIS, aged 58, of Severn Place, Plymouth: dishonestly making off without payment for a hotel room – fined £200, ordered to pay £75 compensation, £85 prosecution costs and £15 victim surcharge.

HAZEL HENDRY, aged 62, of Blandford Road, Efford: possession of amphetamine and possession of cannabis – fined £100, ordered to pay £40 prosecution costs and £15 victim surcharge.

ROY KRESSINGER, aged 51, of Woolster Court, Plymouth: possession of cannabis – fined £70, ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and £15 victim surcharge.

JAMES CLOUGH, aged 23, of Grizedale Road, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 12 months, fined £65, ordered to pay £35 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

LYNSEY GROVES, aged 24, of Tailyour Road, Plymouth: drunk and disorderly – fined £70, ordered to pay £45 prosecution costs and £15 victim surcharge.

ASTRA WIDDICOMBE, aged 22, of Kitley Way, Plymouth: drunk and disorderly – fined £50, ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and £15 victim surcharge.

DEANE GARLAND, aged 24, of Union Street, Plymouth: taking a vehicle without consent, drink-driving, driving without insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence, threatening behaviour, resisting a police officer in the execution of his duty and causing criminal damage to a cell wall – 12-month community order with 270 hours unpaid work and Alcohol Specified Activity Requirement, disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs.

MELISSA BANTON, aged 18, of Luxmore Close, Plymouth: threatening behaviour – fined £35, ordered to pay £40 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

SUSAN FOWLES, aged 61, of Cox Tor Road, Tavistock: making a false statement to obtain benefit – six-month community order with a four-month curfew and ordered to pay £100 costs.

MICHAEL HUMPHRIES, aged 53, of Medway Place, Plymouth: possession of a bladed article and threatening behaviour – 12-month community order with probation supervision.

DANNY PATTERSON, aged 47, of Walker Terrace, Plymouth: causing criminal damage to a plastic advertising fascia hoarding – fined £35, ordered to pay £100 prosecution costs and £15 victim surcharge.

CHARLIE SANDS, aged 22, of Mount Stone Road, Plymouth: threatening behaviour – fined £450, ordered to pay £85 and £15 victim surcharge.

    “British legal system is a farce...the guy that pinched a sandwich needs help obviously...go inside for not paying your council tax and get a little fine for beating someone to a pulp. I remember again why I didn't want to become a lawyer; it's nothing but a joke.”
