THE following cases have been dealt with by Plymouth magistrates.

MICHAEL EGAN, aged 60, of Belmont Place, Plymouth: assaulting a woman by beating her – 12-month community order with 150 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs.

STEPHEN PRETIOUS, aged 40, of Queen Anne's Battery Moorings, Plymouth: assaulting a woman by beating – 12-month community order with 120 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £85 costs.

RAFAL RYMON-LIPINSKI, aged 29, of Union Street, Plymouth: assaulting a woman by beating and criminal damage to a mobile phone SIM card – eight-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months under probation supervision, ordered to pay £100 compensation and costs of £85.

STACEY ELLICOTT, aged 31, of Blandford Road, Plymouth: possession of a de-tagging device in public as an object for use in theft and resentenced for previous theft offences after breaching suspended prison sentences – jailed for nine weeks.

GARY LOMAX, aged 29, of Clifton Place, Plymouth: theft of cosmetics and coffee and resentenced for previous shoplifting offences – eight months in jail.

NATHAN RAO, aged 19, of Adelaide Street, Stonehouse: possession of cocaine and failing to answer bail – six-month community order under probation supervision.

STEPHEN BANBURY, aged 52, of Gratton Place, Plymouth: drink-driving – 12-month community order with 100 hours of unpaid work, banned from driving for four years, ordered to pay £85 costs.

STEPHEN EVANS, aged 44, of Carroll Road, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 20 months, fined £300, ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

ROBERT HUTCHINGS, aged 35, of Reynolds Grove, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 36 months, fined £110, ordered to pay £40 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

DANIEL JAMES JONES, aged 25, of Fletemoor Road, Plymouth: drink-driving - banned from driving for 12 months, fined £135, ordered to pay costs of £85 and £15 victim surcharge.

JULIE STABLES, aged 40, of Junction Gardens, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 23 months, fined £165, ordered to pay £50 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

GARY MILLER, aged 22, of Ringmore Way, Plymouth: threatening behaviour – fined £100, ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

IAN OWEN, aged 26, of Underlane, Plymouth: failing to provide a specimen for analysis – banned from driving for 20 months, fined £250, ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

JEFFREY SHORT, aged 22, of Foulston Avenue: two counts of making a false statement to the Department for Work and Pensions – 12-month community order with 120 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs.
