PSHTIWAN AMIN, aged 29, of Beaumont Road, Plymouth: assaulting a woman by beating her and making a threatening electronic communication – fined £400 and ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge.

ANTONIO BARBOSA, aged 39, of Albert Road, Plymouth: assaulting a woman by beating and causing criminal damage to a bathroom door – 18-week prison sentence suspended for 24 months under probation supervision and ordered to take part in the Building Better Relationships programme, ordered to pay £600 costs and £400 compensation.
ANDREW GLAZSHER, aged 44, of Stuart Road, Plymouth: assaulting a man by beating him, criminal damage to a car window – 12-month community order with 60 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £100 compensation.

KERRY OGSTON, aged 20, of Chard Road, Plymouth: assaulting a woman by beating her – fined £100, ordered to pay £150 compensation, £150 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
KELLY DANN, aged 33, of Devonshire House, Plymouth: theft of shoes and breach of a conditional discharge – six-month community order under probation supervision with Female Offender Specified Activity Requirement and ordered to pay £42.50 compensation.
DANIEL HERON, aged 37, of George Street, Plymouth: theft of champagne – jailed for eight weeks.
EMMA MASON, aged 30, of Bayswater Road, Plymouth: theft of cheese from Iceland, theft of vodka and rum from the Co-op and theft of whisky from Tesco – 12-month community order under probation supervision with six-month Drug Rehabilitation Requirement, ordered to pay £230 compensation.
PAUL PALMER, aged 40, of Granby Street, Plymouth: theft of cosmetics and possession of Valium – jailed for four months.
MARK JOHNSON, aged 44, of George House, Stonehouse: drunk and disorderly – fined £50 and ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge.
DANIEL KEAST, aged 18 , of New Road, Bere Alston: drink-driving – banned from driving for 17 months, fined £50 and ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge.
ADAM WELLINGTON, aged 21, of Crownhill Road, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 17 months, fined £275, ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
KYLE MARSDEN, aged 19, of Stuart Road, Plymouth: four counts of possession of cannabis, theft of a wallet and causing criminal damage to a window – 16 weeks in a young offender institution.
JAMES FERCHAL, aged 29, of Greenbank Avenue, Plymouth: three offences of interfering with motor vehicles – jailed for 12 weeks.
DUANE ICELY, aged 22, of Duncombe Avenue, Plymouth: burglary and failing to answer bail – two-year community order under probation supervision, with 100 hours unpaid work, ordered to pay £270 compensation and £200 costs.
PETER SHEPHARD, aged 50, of Cotehele Avenue, Plymouth: driving while disqualified and driving without insurance – 12-month community order with 100 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay costs of £60.

“Some of the penalties for these offences are absurd~driving while disqualified and driving without insurance – 12-month community order with 100 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay costs of £60. £60? It is actually worth it, as a way of moving around and no insurance.
What does a community order involve? Assault on a woman, gets two different sentences~why?”
