THE following cases have been dealt with by Plymouth magistrates.

ASSAULT

THOMAS ASHWORTH, aged 21, of Jubilee Road, Plymouth: assaulting two men by beating them – fined £650, ordered to pay £100 in compensation, £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

HOLLY FAVREAU, aged 22, of Ingra Road, Plymouth: assaulting a constable in the execution of his duty – fined £100, ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

STEPHEN HOSKING, aged 32, of Kinnaird Crescent, Plymouth: assaulting a man causing actual bodily harm and breach of a conditional discharge – six-month community order with three-month curfew, ordered to pay £400 costs and £200 compensation.

CARLA NORMAN, aged 30, of Hornchurch Road, Plymouth: assaulting a woman by beating her – six-month community order with Female Offenders Specified Activity and ordered to pay costs of £25.

ANDREW SMERDON, aged 49, of Godwell Lane, Ivybridge: assaulting a constable in the execution of his duty and failing to provide a specimen of urine during the investigation of a possible traffic offence – fined £460, ordered to pay £620 costs, £100 compensation and £15 victim surcharge.

THEFT AND DISHONESTY

JULIE HENSMAN, aged 30, of Berkshire Drive, Plymouth: theft of alcohol worth £71 from the Co-op – fined £75, ordered to pay £40 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

RICHARD HOWLETT, aged 29, of Duke Street, Plymouth: theft of groceries worth £50 – 12-month community order with 100 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs.

ANTHONY STEWART, aged 26, of Old Laira Road, Plymouth: theft of two joints of beef from the Co-op – ordered to pay compensation of £14.64.

DRUG OFFENCES

MARLEY DIXON, aged 20, of Kinsale Road, Plymouth: production of cannabis from two plants and possession of cannabis – nine-month community order with 36 hours at the Senior Attendance Centre.

JAY MILLS, aged 27, of Rothesay Gardens, Plymouth: possession of amphetamine – fined £50, ordered to pay £35 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

DRINK

PETER BRYANS, aged 74, of Penlee Road, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 16 months, fined £200, ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and £15 victim surcharge.

CRAIG FLETT, aged 32, of HMS Drake, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 40 months, fined £375, ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

CARLOS MESDRE, aged 35, of Beechwood Terrace, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 14 months, fined £200, ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and £15 victim surcharge.

OTHERS

JAKE MYERS, aged 18, of Rosebery Avenue, Plymouth: threatening behaviour and breach of an antisocial behaviour order – nine-month community order with 36 hours at an attendance centre – ordered to pay £150 costs.

JONATHAN SPRANGLE, aged 18, of Cleeve Gardens, Plymouth: entering a banned area near the football pitch at Home Park – fined £60, ordered to pay £40 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

JAMIE TAYLOR, aged 30, of Lonsdale Villas, Plymouth: driving without due care and attention, leaving the scene of an accident where injury was caused, failing to report an accident, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and breach of a conditional discharge – six-month community order with curfew for three months and ordered to pay £95 costs.

    “someone has to pay a total of £115 for running onto a football pitch yet someone with 4 motoring offences and a breach of a conditional discharge only gets to pay £95 ?

    The world has gone mad.”
