THE following cases have been dealt with by Plymouth magistrates.

CHRISTOPHER MCCAFFERY, aged 26, of Wolseley Road, Plymouth: assaulting a woman by beating, assaulting a constable in the execution of his duty, resisting three officers in the execution of their duty and two counts of possession of cannabis – jailed for 180 days.

LEON BRINTON, age 19, of Notte Street, Plymouth: handling a stolen laptop, criminal damage to a car, theft of a bottle of wine and vodka, possession of cannabis and failing to surrender to bail – 11-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months under probation supervision and ordered to pay £50 compensation.

STEPHEN BURNS, aged 44, of Bath Street, Plymouth: theft of an ear piece and hands-free set worth £100 from Maplins – fined £70, ordered to pay victim surcharge of £20.

LOUIS FREEMAN, aged 24, of Rosemellen Terrace, Liskeard: driving while unfit through drugs – 12-month community order with 100 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £42.50 costs.

KYLE BARTON, aged 39, of Hill Park Crescent, Plymouth: drunk and disorderly – fined £50 and ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge.

DEAN HARLE, aged 23, of Frontfield Crescent, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 12 months, fined £250, ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

BRIAN HOPKINS, aged 71, of Lympne Avenue, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 12 months, fined £250, ordered to pay £40 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

JACKIE LYNCH, aged 46, of Pottery Road, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 18 months, fined £100, ordered to pay £25 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

RYAN MCCULLOUGH, aged 35, of Coombe Way, Plymouth: drunk and disorderly – fined £50 and ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge.

PATYCJA MOSINSKA, aged 34, of White Friars Lane, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for two years, fined £250, ordered to pay £40 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

CLARE THOMAS, aged 32, of Millwood Drive, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 17 months, fined £250, ordered to pay £20 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

TIMOTHY WILKES, aged 41, of Billings Close, Plymouth: drink-driving – banned from driving for 15 months, fined £250, ordered to pay £20 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

WAYNE POPE, aged 30, of Bakers Close, Plymouth: criminal damage to the bonnet of a Vauxhall Astra and breach of a conditional discharge – fined £120, ordered to pay £240 compensation and £15 victim surcharge.

ROMANS STEPINS, aged 45, of Wolsden Street, Plymouth: three counts of handling stolen goods and one of failing to answer bail – 12-month community order under probation supervision with 100 hours unpaid work.

    “Druggies get sympathy trudie.

    Claim you have a drug problem and the system throws sympathy & money at you.

    I prefer to think of it as part of the proof as to how messed up the justice system is.

    Bring back hanging and stocks in the city centre.”
