SOUTH West women in construction (SWWIC) have raised £3,600 for charity and presented their cheques at HMS Drake.

The women, who work in all disciplines within the construction industry, focussed on social fundraising events to raise the money.

Their charitable causes were the Hasler Company and the Children's Hospice South West's Precious Lives Appeal and each received £1,800.

Chair of SWWIC, Lucy George -Foster, said: "It is marvellous to have the continued hard work and support for our members.

"I think everyone enjoyed taking part in fundraising and looked as if they were having great fun."

Hasler Company is part of the Royal Naval Recovery Pathway and supports service people who have complex long term injuries and illnesses as well as their families.

Hasler Company is located within the Royal Naval Base, HMS Drake.

Members and guests of SWWIC were taken on a tour of a submarine anchored in the Dockyard and then enjoyed a High Tea in HMS Drake.
