Charity gets golfers swinging in the rain
THE weather didn't put off teams of hardy golfers in their bid to raise money for charity.
The heavens may have opened for the Parkhurst Hill charity golf day on July 6 but £900 was still raised for Friends and Families of Special Children.
Held at Elfordleigh and organised by Mike Brightwell of Parkhurst Hill, 16 teams entered the competition, with 14 teams completing the course.
The amount raised was presented by managing partner at Parkhurst Hill Keith Clay, to Adrian Stroud of Thompson and Jackson, who is also a trustee of the charity.
