DRAKE Circus shopping centre will be slashing its car parking prices for people attending the British Fireworks Championships.

The Hoe is set to be ablaze with colour for the annual spectacular, which will arrive in the city with a bang next week.

Thousands are expected to flock to the waterfront to see some of the best fireworks the UK has to offer as teams battle it out over two nights, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Drivers can now take advantage of Drake Circus' car park, which will stay open until midnight as well as offering half-price parking from 5pm both evenings.

Most stores in the shopping centre will also be staying open until 8pm.

Mike Jones, general manager at Drake Circus, said: "The fireworks is always a fantastic family event and we want to give people the opportunity to make a real evening of it."
