Christening service that was a real family affair
EIGHT members of the same family were christened together at a special service.
Devonport grandmother and great aunt, Sandy Preece, told how her five grandchildren, her great niece and great nephew and her nephew's wife, were all baptised by Father Mike Harman at Wembury Church.

The joint celebration resulted from a trip by her daughter Kelly who now lives in Argentina.
Kelly bought with her husband Gonzalo and their 11 month-old baby, Romeo Rodriguez Cheek who was christened. Joining him for the special blessing was Lyra Lily, aged six, and Isaac Elvis, aged two, children of Sandy's daughter Aimee and husband Paul Doidge.

Her son Lewis bought along his wife Amy and their children for baptism, Layla Faye, aged five and Roman Lewis Cheek, who is just a few days old.
And her nephew's wife Leanne Eastman, aged 30, was christened along with her children, Oliver Peter, aged two and baby Freya Jane. "It was a lovely day where all the family mucked in," said Sandy. "Mike Harman was delighted and told us the more-the-merrier."
Around 70 people joined the family at Wembury Village Hall for a traditional spread after the ceremony.
