A MID Devon firm has received an award for its innovation in the all-terrain vehicle industry.

Loglogic, of Mutterton, near Cullompton, received the Ground Engineering Innovation Award for its new P60 rotary slope climbing rig.

The equipment, which is used to check ground conditions on steep slopes such as railway and motorway embankments, has a tilted deck which particularly impressed the judges.

The firm was also praised by the panel at the recent ceremony in London for "well developed ideas" that address many health and safety issues.

The company, which has a 15-strong workforce and beat off competition from Network Rail and Balfour Beatty, received the accolade in recognition of producing the ground-breaking equipment for the geo-technical industry.

Managing director Marcus Frankpitt said: "We are dedicated to designing good quality products and providing an excellent service."
