PLYMOUTH Argyle goalkeeper Jake Cole is likely to be out of the Pilgrims' line-up for the next two weeks.

The 26-year-old was ruled out of Saturday's exhilarating 4-0 win at Accrington Stanley after sustaining an injury in training.

It is thought Cole has hurt his arm and the injury is nothing to do with the pelvis damage he suffered at Cheltenham Town on October 29.

That put him out of action for some time – the former Barnet goalkeeper did not return to the Argyle line-up until November 23, when the Pilgrims were knocked out of the FA Cup by part-timers Stourbridge.

Cole (pictured right) was taken for a scan before Saturday's match and ruled out of contention for the game.

Cole seems likely to miss this Saturday's relegation six-pointer against Dagenham and Redbridge at Home Park.

Argyle, fourth bottom of the Football League after their 4-0 thrashing of Accrington Stanley, will want to edge further away from the relegation zone with a win over basement outfit Daggers.

After that, Cole would be missing from the following Tuesday's League Two match at Macclesfield and possibly Argyle's home match with Gillingham on March 3.

Cole's deputy on Saturday was assistant coach Romain Larrieu, who had an outstanding match.

The Frenchman had not played in goal for Argyle since Cole's FA Cup return in November, but did not look at all out of place or practice.

Larrieu, a former player of the year who is in his testimonial season, made a stupendous save late in the game to deny Accrington Stanley a consolation goal and preserve a second consecutive Argyle clean sheet.

It is not clear, however, who would replace Larrieu in goal should anything unfortunate happen to him.

Argyle have just one recognised keeper left in Larrieu and it is assumed one of the players would take over in goal should he be injured during a game, although manager Carl Fletcher declined to say who that might be when he was being interviewed after Saturday's Accrington Stanley match.

Cole is a veteran of League Two relegation battles with former club Barnet.

Cole is in the middle of his third relegation battle in as many seasons, the previous two with the Bees.

The 26-year-old keeper arrived at Argyle in the summer after just over two years with Barnet.

ARGYLE striker Nick Chadwick with be special guest at the Senior Greens' monthly meeting, which will be held tomorrow in the Pyramid Suite.

“Great news from our talents scouts in the Australian development camp optimistically named the Argyle Diamond Mine. It seems that they have at last found a new wee nugget worth millions who should play against Dag & Red on Saturday. "It has taken 26 years of Argyle production to unearth this one and we may never see one like this again,'' said Argyle Manager Josephine Johnson, "He should be better than Rory Fallon the last gem from this part of the world". I can't wait for Saturday.”
