Community Homes' healthy eating events
PLYMOUTH Community Homes (PCH) is showing its support for the loveLIFE campaign by offering more healthy eating events for free for its tenants throughout 2012.
One of PCH's most successful courses last year was a healthy eating event aimed at young families. Staff from PCH's Communities Team joined forces with the NHS to hold a healthy cooking day in Whitleigh.

Young mums and their kids cooked up treats including butternut squash soup, learnt all about nutritious lunch box food and discovered how much fat and sugar is present in common processed foods.
The event was such a success that there are now plans to hold more during the year around the city.
Participants will be able to learn all about healthy living, healthy eating, cooking nutritious meals on a budget and how to put together healthy school lunch boxes.
Ryan Huws, of PCH's communities team, said: "The healthy eating event we held last year was really popular so we're definitely going to be running more this year.
"Residents love them as they get to think more about the food they buy, prepare and eat, not only for themselves, but for their families too. This fits in perfectly with the loveLIFE campaign, which aims to encourage people to stay healthy. One of the best ways they can do this is by eating less and eating better.
"We're not just about putting a roof over people's heads – we want to make sure residents are happy in their homes and communities and enjoy a good quality of life – what better way to do that than by helping to improve their cooking skills?"
